كانت هذه هي الأجواء في قطار الليل المتأخر، وهؤلاء هم ركابه، الا أن هناك ركابا اخرين جعلوا من القطار وفي هذا الوقت بالذات متنفسا لهم يستقلونه تقريبا كل ليلة، ودون وجهة محددة سوى الرغبة اما في التسلية أو الفرجة، أو التفكير في أحوال الحياة والاخرين، أو – وهذه كانت كثيرا- الرغبة في الهروب من يومهم أو أمسهم.
